I wear prescription insoles in my shoes so not sure about the arch support but as a warning to all: Doc Martens leather quality is not what you think it is. I use leather conditioner, etc and these shoes still fall apart. This is my third pair in five years. It's not the rubber bottoms those are practically indestructible. It's the leather splitting apart at basic shoe stress points. Meanwhile I have coworkers with Docs from the 90s that look better than mine. And everyone who regularly wears their Docs says the same thing: the leather fails. For a pair of almost $200 shoes I cannot justify buying them anymore so this will be my last purchase of Docs.

They are very tight across the tongue seem. I'm currently using shoe stretchers to make them more comfortable.

Very fast service from Zappos...unfortunately I used the size chart from Doc Martens web site and they were completely wrong. But Zappos makes it very simple to return an item and get the right sized shipped right back. Thank you Zappos...Doc Martens...fix your size chart!

Unfortunately I have a high instep, and these boots are uncomfortably tight on the top of my foot. Sadly I have to return them because of the fit issues.

These were my first pair of Dr. Martens. I love the patent leather! I was told that they need a couple of wear to break it. I’m not sure it is was my narrow feet, but I did not have an issues when I first wore them. They were rather comfortable.

had these for almost 2 years for work and they are great, i have bad plantar fasciitis so i had to buy insoles, but after you break them in they are great. you will need long socks though but they are solid.

Spent HOURS reading reviews to try to figure out what size would work, but recommendations were all over the place. Ended up ordering a 7, 8, and 9. I'm almost always a solid 8, but I DO have one pair of Miz Mooz boots in 7.5, and one pair of L'Artiste in 8.5, so I figured I'd try everything. My usual size 8 fits like a glove! I don't even think these will need a break-in period (fingers crossed -- I just got them today). They're so cool and don't really look clunky or heavy. SO much comfy room in the toe box, and they aren't tight on top of my foot either. I think either thin or medium weight socks will be fine. Can't wait to wear these everywhere!

Love the look..looking for more patent leather styles in 14 and 20 eyed.
