This is a very good looking boot and it is well made. A word of caution, the collar is very stiff and the boot takes some time to break in. You are not going to put these on and spend an entire day running around

Warning - the insoles are securely glued in place. If you wear orthotics and need to remove the stock insole, these boots likely will not work for you. I understand removing the insoles to try on with my own will void the warranty. Back they must go. Ugh!!! Otherwise, beautiful boots.

I NEVER return LL Bean products BUT, I did return these, the only aspect of this product that was an "improvement" was the sole. The originals had a vibram sole that made them very comfortable but, if you wore them on rough terrain was not quite as durable but, the leather construction was WAY superior to this issue. The original was more attractive , with it's part bison leather construction, smooth leather lining and padded tongue. It was a VERY comfortable fit. I wore the current version for only one hour and knew they were going back. Sorry!

I bought these shoes a month ago, and I'm glad I did. I bought them because they reminded me of Eastland boots that I wore in the early to mid 90's. They seem to be a lot better. The leather is so soft but durable and the fit is great. I'm pleased with this shoe purchase.

Bought these with a distant memory of owning a similar pair back in the 80s. These did not disappoint, they are very comfy and are breaking in very nicely indeed. I choose the brown because my wife told me that having worn the red color in the 80s I was forbidden to do it again (wise woman!!!) I'm tempted however to go sock free and enjoy suede interior this summer!
