Toe box too narrow: Your boots are outstanding but you need to come out with a wide width. For long hikes, like the AT thru hike I am on now, your boots are not wide enough in the toe box. I have even tried two sizes up.

Boot for all journeys: Still breaking these boots in. But out of the box these are a great fit and feel stable through trail and rocky terrain.

Great boots: I had a pair of these for 14 years and they've been great. Very well made, great foot and ankle support and very comfortable.

I consider these a true improvement over the previous (cigar) Kailash version, primarily for the improved lacing fitments. more supportive collar, and the superb biometric outsole; I love this sole! I got hooked on it with the passé Scarpa Zanskar. Too bad that boot is no longer available; it was a terrific leather boot for weaker (previously sprained) ankle in particular. Sizing: I had to go with a 45 wide to get the fit I require, which fits similarly (for me) to the Scarpa SL Activ last; a last that’s designed for more toe-box space. I wear a 44.5 (11)W in most other shoes. If you are a full D width, I think you’ll need the wide version of this boot vs. the standard, and perhaps a 1/2 size above your normal fit. It’s a close call on these points, but it matters in a boot of this quality and purpose. Best to try two sizes if in doubt.

They feel great. Feels like I’ve had them for months , all broke in .I’ve had a lot of Scarpa shoes and they all been really great.

My daughter has long feet that are on the narrow side, and these boots were a lifesaver for us! We tried so many women’s boots with no luck and were about to give up when I ran across the Kailash on a list of best men’s hiking shoes for narrower feet. We had been warned away from men’s hiking boots because they are usually wide compared to women’s shoes, but these run a little narrow. They fit her perfectly and have held up really well!

Though I ended up returning these boots, I felt like I should write a brief review. I ordered 5 pairs of hiking boots including these Scarpa Boots. I just wanted to emphasize that the build quality was GREAT and they felt and looked very rugged and that they could withstand a lot of abuse. I chose to return them because "Boots" just didn't sit well with me and I went back to trail runners but boy did I want to keep these!
