extremely short sizing compared to prior sizes in skechers, otherwise lovely shoe

I have been diagnosed with Halux Rigidus. I need a wide toe box and rocker bottom. Relaxed Fit D'Lux style is the shoe for me! Got these on sale and further reduced the price with Rewards Cash. I'm up to about 40 pairs of Skechers now. Unfortunately the shoes I bought before the diagnosis won't work for me anymore. Somebody with my shoe size is going to score!!

I wear between 8.5 and 9, I got a 9. I think an 8.5 would have been better only because of the relaxed fitting. It has a bit wider toe box which was great and felt protective, but my heel lifted when I walked. They are comfortable out of the box, but for me, the 8.5 would fit more securely. I'll mention, too, that the color is a bit richer than the online photo.
