On Wednesday August 20th, 2026, after approximately30 seconds of microwave heating, the container shattered unexpectedly. I have safely microwaved other Rubbermaid glass containers for years without issue, including from frozen, which makes this failure particularly concerning. Fortunately, no one was injured, but the glass broke during normal use, and it created a risk of injury. I would like to understand whether this issue has been reported previously, whether there are any safety advisories or recalls related to this product, and what next steps you recommend. Helping keep food fresher longer. Easy to clean since you can throw everything in the dishwasher. I would purchase these if I needed another and saw them in store.

First off, the lid has a vent so you can microwave the base and lid, which is great. Both can also go in the dishwasher. The base is oven safe. I have been moving towards glassware for food storage due to microplastics, and the lid is also BPA free, which also seems healthier! I will definitely purchase the full set!
