Velvet Matte Lipstick

This was the worst buy and so expensive I have lipstick from 2-3 years ago and never broke. This one I used it once and it broke. Never buying this again. Expensive yet cheap

I have a lot of luxury lipsticks, and Gucci continues to be a favorite. I expected this shade to be more purple, but on my medium-tan olive skin it turns into a gorgeous creamy fuchsia, which I actually love. The pigment is rich and saturated, but the formula still feels silky and comfortable rather than dry. The gold case is beautiful and substantial too. It really feels like a luxury product from the color to the packaging. Pricey, but worth it.

I own so many lipstick brands, and this is hands down the best. The deep, true ruby red is incredibly rich and saturated, and the matte formula feels smooth and silky—never dry. Even the beautifully constructed gold case feels substantial and luxurious. Everything about this lipstick screams luxury. It comes with a luxury price tag, but it’s absolutely worth it.

One star off for very confusing, misleading images. This lipstick feels on the lips, just how one would expect a perfect matte lipstick to feel. The packaging is solid, sturdy and looks very elegant and sophisticated. I have been longing for a specific colour lipstick that I can't seem to find... so i'm constantly blending at least two colors. woe is me. I wanted to like one of these colours, especially on Lipstick Day when they were half price, and I kept checking out the reviews and the pictures added to them for an idea of which color might actually be what it is- as opposed to these very misleading images on the website. The sephora in my town does not carry this lipstick, so I have to rely solely on these pictures. I've decided to take some pictures of the colour that I chose, and share them in case someone else is going through this same conundrum. It is because of the pictures people shared (and not the ones on the website) I chose Anne Lilac. I like a very bluey pink. I'd prefer it to be a lighter, creamier pink, but I will mix it with something- because the blueyness is spot on. I hope these pictures are helpful to get an idea of what this colour actually looks like! I think it's gorgeous; albeit, nothing like the advertised colour. Because it is very pigmented and stains well, I prefer it wiped off; the purpley-pink left behind is lovely!

Paulina Red looks more purple than brownish red, even on my olive skin tone. Was hoping to wear this to the office, but the purple makes it look goth not chic. Disappointed. I like the texture but it does smear and does not have staying power, which is also not good for the office.

I mean. It’s Gucci. So, of course it’s five star. Coverage is amazing. Color is amazing. Scent of this lipstick is amazing. Packaging is …. You get it.

I ordered this product because of the rich dark color. However the actual product was much lighter. I compared the product name and number and it’s the same. Not as advertised. Really disappointed because Ive been looking for this shade for a long time. .

I got a sample of Janet Rust so after watching the commercial with Abbey Lee Kershaw in it I just HAD to buy the Rosso Ancora shade. I was super disappointed because the finish feels and looks different than the Janet Rust formula. Janet feels and looks very matte but Rosso Ancora is significantly creamier. I would try it in the liquid formula but I can't afford another $100 lipstick of the exact same shade, not in this economy. It is a pretty colour, and it's a nice formula if you want a creamier lipstick and you can build it...looks nice sheer...looks nice as a blush. But if you are looking for that almost-dry 1990's matte...this is not the one.

loved this shade and the feel of product on lips but…both times, with barely rolling up the lipstick, it broke off at base and stuck to top of the tube. I was able to tap it on counter to knock it down onto base but then it was messy
