This stuff works fine—no better or worse than most other curl creams I've tried. But there's really no need to spend almost 50 bucks on it when other, cheaper products work as well. I do like that its scent is not as strong and pervasive as that of many other curl creams.
Really cool styling cream! I’m using it with the curling hair drying method and I’m super excited about the results. My hair is heavy and wavy, and this cream keeps the curls in place for a couple of days!
After years of wearing my hair straight - I finally ventured into letting my thick, coarse hair take it's natural wavy/curly coarse. I've tried at least a dozen different products trying to find one that would help me achieve the desired curl and Oribe is the one that has finally got me there. I use the butter when I want my locks to have more definition and really bring out the curl. I use the other curl cream when I want softer, longer curls. Still trying others - but so far this is the winner.
Smells good but not worth the price as it doesn't do much for your hair or curls other than making it smell good. Will be returning.
I have wavy hair. I have tried a lot of hair products for curls and this one is the holy grail! it is both great for styling and moisturizing! I get beautiful soft curls without any crunchiness, great smell, easy to use! It is especially good for colored hair that can get dry. The price is worth it. I have tried replacing it and nothing comes close!
Love how my curls feel! This cream is wonderful in the winter and also works for the summer.
I am very happy with the combo I am using right now. This curl enhancing cream works well for my thick waves. Leaves the hair soft. Does not retain the curl as strong as the first day. But I have not met with any curl enhabcer that does this to my thick hair.
It’s okay. I think it’s good enough where it leaves my hair feeling soft but that’s pretty much it. I don’t see that it makes my curls bouncy or natural. They look a little oily and died down, not sure if that makes sense. Maybe I’m not using it right.
I tried this and the styling cream—and this was superior for my hair (styling cream did little for me and my hair was quite frizzy) . This butter is rich and moisturizing, but not heavy and did not weigh my hair down. In fact, my hair was more defined and for longer. My hair soaked this up. Day three and my curls are still defined and so hydrated and soft. (I used this along with the gelee.) 4-stars due to price.
When it comes to curls, I have never found products that compare to Oribe’s magic curl trio- the curl sets going primer, this style butter curl enhancing cream, and the curl silkening cream. I use a dime size amount of each, comb through my hair, scrunch, and then let air dry. I also toss in some Gold Lust oil after my curls are dry to get shine and volume! I chose to leave this review under the styling butter because if I was forced to use only one of these curl products, it would be this! The ingredients are essential to feed the needs of curls- and especially curls that have been through the trenches of bleaching like my platinum curls have been! My hairdresser raves about the ingredients! I love the fact that you need such a small amount to create such luscious and healthy, bouncy curls! It is also one of the only products that keeps my curls looking good even after a day or two! These products are nothing short of a holy grail for us curly girls! For reference, I have a mix of 2c/3a bleached platinum blonde curls!
