this gel is def a good gel if you want a medium hold and have finer low porosity hair. personally i have thicker high porosity hair so i do prefer a stronger hold nd a solid cast so this product wasnt for me but if you have finer low porosity hair i would 100% recommend!
I hear so many things about this company and was so excited to try the gel. I have thick, curly hair and this was such a disappointment. There was little to no hold and my hair was frizzy the next day and looked dry. I've tried to apply the gel after styling/brushing, before brushing and the results are the same. 'm going to stick the gel I've used before this as that gave me results that lasted for days.
I had high hopes for this product, but as soon as I received and opened it, the scent was very triggering. It's like a bad attempt at a fruity floral scent that ended up smiling a bit like a box dye... I then applied quite a bit of it and hoping my waves would finally hold into the 3rd day, but as soon as I broke the cast, my hair felt very waxy - whenever I touched my hair with my hand, it felt as if there's powder on my hands, but no I can't see anything on my hand, I thought I should wash my hand with water, nothing. So I guess it's just a really really rough finish. I even used deeply moisturizing mask before applying this gel, and this gel just made my hair untouchable and knotted like crazy, and it's not holding any better than my pure natural gel like treluxe, except this feels impossible to refresh the next day. Absolutely returning this.
Weird but in a good way, it feels like you’re applying water to your hair and has a lather effect when going through the hair. Feels very weightless (like twisting with water) but the hold is awesome and the best part is no flakes! Def
I have wavy hair post pregnancy (used to be stick straight!) and have been on an expensive hair journey. While I don’t love the texture in my hand - it works well on my hair and that’s really all that matters. It’s got good hold compared to others I’ve tried, and doesn’t leave my hair feeling tacky.
Works amazing on my medium thick, very long and wavy hair! I recommend brushing it roots to ends on damp hair. The scent is awesome too.
The best gel I have used for my low porosity 2B-2C hair. The smell is really good but not overpowering. I have yet to find a job that does better than this
Has a very strange texture and a strong, nearly unbearable scent. The gel was like one solid wiggly piece in the container like jello. The hold was strong, but diffusing took forever.
Not for me. When it dries, it flakes all in my hair and good luck wearing anything not white. Looks like a snow storm. I will just stick to the In-Shower Gel. It works better and doesn’t flake.
I really love this curlsmith gelee. I tend to apply in the shower so it doesn't leave me with a super dense cast. Combined with a denman brush to define the curls and a curl cream....it's something I'm going to continue using!
