Standard curcumin is rapidly deactivated by the liver. Longvida is a special technology that coats curcumin with fats. This allows curcumin to circulate in the body in its "free form" (the active, therapeutic form) for several hours. Longvida tends to be quite expensive, but this brand has a very acceptable price relative to the brand I used earlier. Strongly recommended!
