The quality of the slippery elm bark powder is superb. Smells like a herb should. No mouldy smells, no musty or stale smell or taste. Dissolves in warm water. But one needs to use a whisk. The taste is OK ish. It helped me with my colon inflammation. But. It gave me horrible migraine. I have genetically caused Histamine Intolerance. So it either high in Histamine or triggers Histamine Intolerance. I already had read that before buying but thought it might depend on the quality of the slippery elm bark. But it definitely seems to be the elm bark itself that causes this issue. Combined with the Histamine Intolerance. So if you have a history of HIT you might give it a try but buy a small quantity first.
I started using Frontier Co-op Slippery Elm as part of my natural protocol for gut inflammation, stomach irritation, and acid reflux — and it has quickly become one of my favorite healing herbs. The quality of this powder is excellent: finely ground, fresh-smelling, and effective from the first use. The taste is mild, slightly earthy, and easy to mix into warm water or herbal teas. I usually add a small amount of honey to improve the flavor, but even plain, it's very tolerable. As for dosage, I take about 1 teaspoon stirred into warm water, 1–2 times a day, usually before meals or on an empty stomach. It forms a natural, soothing gel that really helps coat the stomach lining, reduce burning, and ease bowel movements. The ingredients are just one thing: 100% pure slippery elm bark powder, with no fillers or additives — which is so important for those of us with sensitive guts
This high quality inner bark that helps a lot with digestive issues and repairing the gut lining. I use this to drink straight, make tinctures, roll into honey pastilles or make tea.
Great product good quality and easy to mix and drink. Drink quickly otherwise it thickens fast; good for acid reflux, bloating and stomach upset. I take away from other supplements but after food, if I get the above symptoms, the whole fsmily uses it very happily. iHerb provide me with wonderful customer service and fast delivery.Highly recommend company to others.
This powdered slippery elm has such a soft, smooth texture — you can instantly feel how fresh and pure it is. The 16 oz resealable bag is generous and keeps the powder clean and dry. I love that it’s 100% organic and made only from the inner bark, which gives it that naturally soothing quality. I usually stir a teaspoon into warm water or blend it with honey for a gentle, calming drink. The taste is mild and earthy, perfect when my throat feels dry or my stomach needs a little care. It thickens slightly when mixed, creating a silky, coating texture that’s so comforting. It’s caffeine-free, easy to use, and such a reliable herbal staple. You can really tell the quality — every scoop feels like natural relief straight from the source.
I do so much research on how to help my slow digestive tract. This is one of the most used herbs in the GI healing realm. I wanted to buy bulk to save money, but also to keep from having more stress on my system by multiple capsules. So far so good. It is a well researched herb.
This gelled up for me, just make sure you don't use too much water. I wish the bag came with a resealable zipper, you will have to put it in a separate container. The powder itself smelled exactly like some Slippery Elm pills I bought from a different brand, not too bad, typical dried herb-y smell that you might expect.
I have irritable bowel syndrome I have to watch what I eat specific foods will irritate --slippery elm creates a mucus that coats the stomach and the bowels as to protect from foods that irritate among other things .. As I write this review I am eating my breakfast cream of wheat with a teaspoon of slippery elm in it
