A good quality masala tea. Better than the average grocery store brand, with bigger leaves and spices, so the taste is richer and fuller. It's too rich in cloves for my liking and the recipe on the tin makes a very watery tea, but other than that, I've no complaints
Artisan Quality Pure Leaf Teas Fresh USDA Organic Brews 60 Cups Certified Organic by QAI Caffeine: Most Origin, India Chai is an integral part of life in India and simply translates to 'Tea' in Hindi. Calling it 'Chai tea' is considered redundant. Chaiwallahs (tea vendors) are present at street corners brewing basic black tea with spices especially during early morning. 500 Mile Chai The tale of '500 Mile Chai' originates from the many late night truck drivers stopping at small Chai stands (Dhabas) on the highway and asking for really strong, sweet Chai to help them drive long distances (in a humorous tone - 'for another 500 miles'). Choice of the Leaf The grade of tea commonly used for Chai is known as 'Cut, Tear and Curl (CTC)', representing a heavily rolled leaf pellet with very low moisture content. It is ideal for boiling, which is the traditional way to make Chai. Organic Spices We hand blend the organic black tea with organic spices. Chai Utensils Chaiwallahs in India offer chai in simple kettles and small tapered glasses or chai cups called 'Kasoras', which are made of low fired clay.

This tea itself comes in little pebble-like pellets (I believe this particular black tea is rolled very tightly, hence the pellet look) interspersed with bits of real spices throughout. Since the tea is rolled so tightly, I would recommend not to over-measure the tea when brewing, as it may not look like you are using a lot, but a bit goes a long way. I love to brew this tea in my glass kettle directly in whole milk mixed with a touch or half and half or heavy cream. I actually put the tea right into the cold milk and then put the mix on the stove on low heat to steep / brew together for as long as it takes to boil on a low flame. Once it boils, I add some condensed milk to sweeten and further creamify the tea, which by that point would be the latte-est of tea lattes. I’m sure tea purists would probably gasp (lol), but this is my preferred and recommended way to enjoy this chai. Only suggestion to Tao of Tea would be to up the spice level and include more of the spices to further deepen and enrich the flavor.
Si I really didn’t read the description of the product before buying but i followed the instructions for preparing and holy cow, was it strong. I would recommend to use a smaller amount than the recommended. Very good traditional taste. And the package is nice, metal and a big size.
I love this tea blend, it feels like great quality. The taste is very strong, which I really love. I use it to make concentrates and keep in my fridge so when I want to make a cold latte. The packaging is so nice, and the size is perfect for the price.
Tastes great! This is a very nice chai tea. I appreciate the quality of the ingredients. The spice blend is very nice. Quite enjoy it, Will keep buying this
Great chia mix, quality ingredients. It has a nice aroma, not overpowering. Just add some sweetener and milk, and it tastes great. Has some caffeine naturally, so that’s something to consider.
I made 52, 1 tsp tea bags from this. The container it comes in is high quality as well and reusable, although mine came with a big scratch on the top. The tea leaves are curled and have a strong flavor. Can be resteeped. My only critique is that because the cloves and cardamom are all whole, you don’t get the spice flavor strongly in every cup. If you like a very spiced chai, this isn’t it.
500 Mile Chai from The Tao of Tea makes the perfect chai latte. The flavor is rich, smooth, and well-balanced, and I really enjoy the quality of the tea. It has a strong, comforting aroma and blends beautifully with milk. Definitely one of my favorite chai blends.
