Milk of magnesia is a type of hyperosmotic laxative.  This type of laxative draws water from adjacent tissue into the gut. The feces will become softer and moister as a result of this. It also aids in the promotion of bowel movements. Constipation, indigestion, and heartburn are all relieved by it. This is due to the fact that it can lower stomach acid while raising bowel water. It's worth it, even if it doesn't taste great.
