Bought this for my husband who has always struggled with scalp flaking due to eczema and psoriasis. Within the first 2 uses his shirts were clear of flakes and I noticed he stopped scratching his head. He says the smell isn't terrible, the tar smell is noticeable but doesn't linger on his hair. Hopefully this continues to work because we've been through so many shampoos!
Effective at relieving itch, lathers well and doesn’t smell weird. On really greasy hair (say a wash every 3-4 days in summer time), I had to use the product twice to get a good clean. You definitely need to add a conditioner afterwards.
I needed to replace the Neutrogena T gel shampoo - the coal tar one - since it's ownership still involves J&J. Anyway, it's amazing, it works just as well. Good quality and suitable for sensitive dandruff prone scalp. It's just more expensive :( I wish there were grocery store 50% off sales on iHerb too.

It doesn't have a strong tar smell like Neutrogena T-Gel but it does work rather good. it actually has a normal shampoo smell.
