EPA 500, Omega-3, 500 mg, 120 Softgels

I was looking for an EPA only fish oil supplement and that's great. I've been using fish oil for years and have been dissatisfied with how old supplements make my cholesterol look high, despite a very healthy diet and exercise routine. It was the most important thing when getting life insurance. Anyway, I switched to it, and my cholesterol was fully normalized in the "healthy margin" textbook, and I still feel the common benefit I've always loved from fish oil.

Due to a lipid imbalance, I opted for a pure EPA supplement on my doctor's recommendation (2 capsules at breakfast and two more capsules at diner). Of course, I've also adjusted my lifestyle: I avoid refined sugars and unhealthy fats. I've also started exercising more. My cholesterol levels have improved significantly! The advantage of these capsules is that they're easy to take and you don't experience any fishy burps!

This is my second Ubiquinol purchase from iHerb. Bought it for my husband. With 500mg EPA per unit, they are very convenient to top up his daily intake or reduce it. Their size is small & easy to take. No bad taste or after-taste. My husband was taking high DHA + EPA before but after some reading, I thought it would be better that he went on EPA-only supplements to try lower his triglycerides, raise his HDL without the risk of raising his LDL as well. The benefits of EPA are numerous. It is good for the heart as it is supposed to counter high triglycerides, cholesterol & reduces inflammation. Moreover this brand's Omega 3 is in rTG form - the best quality for fish oil & bioavailability. Will know for sure if it all works for the better after a few months. Hopefully the next blood test will also show a reduction in bad lipids. However, we cannot afford to follow the exact dosage instructions given here. Going on 2 or 3 a day should be able to make some positive difference to his lipid profile, combined with doctor's statins, I hope.

EPA seems to be the more effective typr of omega 3 and whoever used the brand liked it, however, fish oil in general is not for everyone; for me it causes depression-like symptoms.

I've been taking omega-3 for about 15 years. I take it to support my joints. Unfortunately, during the last two years, either the formulations have changed or my joints started requiring a different composition, but the effectiveness has significantly dropped with other variants. This omega is still beneficial.
