This is actually Japanese sencha tea, and is actually green in color, and it is organic. Many of the so-called sencha teas are yellow or brown in color, and come from China. From everything I have read the green tea from Japan is more nutrient dense, and the Japanese are known for the careful attention they give to the tea fields. I have been drinking this tea for several years, and truly enjoy its robust flavor.

This is authentic, the best I've ever tried
I got to know about this particular type and brand of green tea some 3 to 4 months ago but couldn't just find a way to get it since I live outside the US. So, I was literally overjoyed when iHerb started carrying it. I consider myself a big-time green tea fan as I've experienced first hand, it's numerous health benefits which range from calming the nerves and clearing the confusion out of one's head to dramatically diminishing the signs of aging on the skin. I must say that this one is authentic and the best I've ever tried in it's category (the highest quality green tea is actually Japanese Matcha which is way too costly) and I'll definitely stick to it. I have tried many brands of green tea, and have found that Sencha is by far the best-tasting green tea on the market. Because i drink 2-3 cups of it each day, buying it loose in the bag is far cheaper than using tea bags. i use 1 teaspoon of the loose tea and put it in a little strainer that sits across the top of the cup or mug. I steep my tea for 3-4 minutes.
