Love love love this electric kettle! Perfect for an evening cup of tea or for your daily pour over coffee. The pouring is very precise and holds the perfect amount of water.
I have been using this electric gooseneck kettle for the past month. I love it! It looks great (matches my Ratio coffee maker) heats water quickly and precisely. Some reviewers have complained that the alert sound is too loud. This is not the case. It is just loud enough to get my attention. (My hearing is excellent).
I don’t usually write reviews, but I made it a point to for this product. My main gripe? It stopped working after 3 months of SPORADIC use. My husband gifted this to me for mother’s day and we have used it maybe twice a week since then. It completely died on July 27th. Followed all care instructions, and tips provided in the booklet. Base will only display an error message and the entire unit will not work. Absolute waste of money.
This kettle works very well - Quality materials, simple controls, heats up quickly and well controlled pours. The steam vent is made into the kettle's lid, so aviod steaming the handle you have to be very careful how the lid is placed onto the kettle. The obvious solution is to make the steam vent into the kettle's body..

The kettle does its job: it's a gooseneck kettle with temperature controls and a keep-warm option, so that's nice. But there are some design flaws that have gotten frustrating after a year of ownership of a rather expensive piece of equipment. - Touch sensor buttons are not a good choice for a kitchen appliance. It's also not super intuitive. I don't have a problem turning it on and setting to the desired temperature, since I read the manual. But I have to instruct guests how to use it because it's not apparent without guidance. - The way the lid is designed funnels all the steam out at an angle, so you need to line it up correctly when you pour or else the steam will vent on your hands when you pour. There's an arrow on the lid indicating how to align it, but it's faded over the year that I've had this kettle. - The kettle wobbles in the base.
I am a tea bag gal. My husband does gong fu style tea brewing. The pour is great into his tiny 150ml (averaged) tea pots. We like the Cuisinart Gooseneck water kettle. Two things could be improved. The MAX line in the kettle should be opposite from the handle for easy reading, as it is you have to twist your wrist and the kettle around to read the MAX line. It was difficult to wrap the excess cord under the base, and were surprised how little would fit in the base. All the other features work quite well. We like the lid design better than our old OXO kettle (OXO’s rubber gasket failed). 3 yr warranty is great.
Wonderful kettle. Have one in the kitchen, one in my office, and just bought a third for another home. They're pour-over magic... perfect temp w. a real-time digital and a beep to tell me when it's time to pour.
Overall, this is a good kettle. It has a liter capacity which nicely accommodates my pour over coffee carafe. It heats quickly and maintains temp well. Easy to use. I wish the digital readout was an individual degree readout rather than grouped in five degree increments.
Not sure the extra 20 seconds of pouring does much for the tea.
