SMEG 7-Cup Electric Kettle

I travel a lot to Europe and a water kettle is available in every hotel and convenient for making hot water. I wanted a Smeg and bought one for my new home. Love it. Nice to have tea or fresh spices and lemon in hot water as an alternative to coffee. Looks nice on countertop, functional decor.

This was purchased for a wedding gift for the bride and groom and they really enjoyed it so it was an excellent pic

This is a pricey kettle but it does the job of heating water to boil quickly. The color looks good in our kitchen.

It is fantasy work.

Looks pretty but not impressed. You don't hear a click when it finishes boiling so you have to keep looking at the nob to see if it moved. Worst of all there is a plastic smell which emanates from top lid. Since the inside is metal I don't think it's in the water but if you smell it this means there are particules floating around somewhere. Microplastics are a big no no.

Our second SMEG kettle has now died. Water leaking from the water capacity window and water leaking from where the base meets the black shell. Leaks all over the counter. Leaks from water window into the switch, who engineered that? So unhappy with SMEG products lately.

The exterior gets too hot and remains hot for a long time. Not safe. There is a bad odor coming from the kettle- you notice right after you open the package. On the heavy side.

My review is based primary on the look! The Navy blue is beautiful. Since I just received it - I haven't had the opportunity to use the product in order to provide a product functionality, quality review.

Works quickly. Beautiful to look at. I'm proud to have it on my counter.
