The shoes smelled like menthol or some kind of odd smell. I liked the carafe color much more than I expected to. The shoes did show up with scuffs already, but that’s typical for other Birks that I’ve owned. I think the carafe color will hide scuffs a lot more than a lighter shades. The sizing is odd. I tried a 39 in the store which was too big and this 38 is too small, especially with socks. The nubuck leather was painful around the foot entrance. I’m sure overtime this will soften, but without socks, these can be painful. I noticed it was more painful on one shoe, and I checked the strap to make sure that they were lined up. That’s when I noticed it almost looks like these are two different shoes. Very big inconsistency with the shape of these. One had the more potato shoe look, and the other one was much more narrow. Even the soles of the shoes are different one laid flat and the other bows up.

I wear this all year round n bought the new pair to store when mine give out. Sadly, I had to return. They just didn’t arrive in their usual glory. Right clog was abnormally scratched up. So I had to return. But, ordered another pair!
