skirt is tight

I love petal and pup and buy the brand often. I was looking forward to this set; however I had to return because the skirt is uncomfortably tight above the slit and in the waist. I am between a M and L in P&P and ordered a large. Top fits perfectly, but the skirt had to sit so high up on my waist just to zip it up which brought the slit up to an uncomfortable height. If I were just walking around or standing in this, it would be fine, but the second I sit down...that slit becomes quite the problem. If I sized up, the top would be too big. Had to return unfortunately. I'm sad because although it is ill-fitting, it IS very pretty. There were no other reviews of this set that I could find anywhere online...so here you go!
