The Cellar James 3" Butter Dish

I purchased this butter dish with wooden lid, not to use for its designed purpose, but as a storage container in my bathroom. The white color is perfect - it's not a stark, blinding white shade, it's more muted so it will go well with grey accents. I love the dark stained wooden top, which does not seal (there''s no rubber seal around the perimeter) and does not fit very snugly on the top - it's more like an easy-fitted top rather than a lid. The quality is very good and i find it very attractive for holding my ear swabs with style !

Such a cute and aesthetic butter dish! I love the look and the size is perfect for a stick of butter. But the lid is not airtight at all and doesn't fit nicely - it just sits loosely on top. Giving 3 stars only because of the lid issue.

The wooden top simply rests on the ceramic dish, there is no seal.

This is a really nice butter dish. I liked the looks of it, the glazing the the nice fit of the wood lid. Unfortunately, I ordered online instead of in store. It was wrapped poorly and arrived shattered into dozens of pieces. I wish I could have found one in store instead.

I love this butter holder. It is a streamlined design that would fit into any kitchen. It can hold one standard stick of butter, but I fill it with soft butter that I scoop out if the store container.

I really like the functionality of this butter dish. I have used it the last few weeks. The only thing I wish was different is the wood top. I wish it were available in different types of wood.

Very nice ceramic butter dish with wood top. Looks great. Fits one stick of butter. Easy to wash. No ledge to clean like other butter dishes with trays. I gave it 3 stars as the top doesn’t fit snuggly.

Do NOT buy this butter keeper!!!! There is no seal or gasket; when I put the cover on the base, I could see light between the gaps between them so there is NO SEAL. Bugs can just walk in, you might as just put your butter on a plate and leave it open on the counter! Stupid design!!

Beautiful materials and lines. I am actually going to use it to present teabags.
