FoodSaver VS1260 Space Saving Vacuum Sealing System

Upon using the device, suction will not hold unless leaned upon with full weight. Is there any chance for replacement? Unit does not work as is.

Just tried this today. It is awkward trying to keep the e sealing edge of the bag flat while you pull the lid down. If you are arthritis like me, it is hard to press down on the two edges to lock it. I liked my previous food saver with an easy locking mechanism, easy to follow instructions in the lid and an easy load edge of the bag. Once I figured out that the bag edge could not be over the drip channel, I was finally able to get it to vacuum and seal. I didn’t think it was much less bulky that my old unit. I haven’t had it long enough to assess how well it preserves food. Would definitely prefer my old food saver. Sadly, it “died”.

After purchasing another product which did not work well, I'm glad I came back to FOODSAVER.

This vacuum sealer is junk. It struggles to turn on. When it does turn on it doesn’t vacuum all the air out. Then seals the bag with lots of air inside. I then have to wait 10-15 minutes for it to vacuum again. This is only my second time using now it’s headed for the trash.

Purchased as a Christmas gift for a busy household and the size was appreciated as it will fit into a kitchen drawer and be readily available.

I had a whamodyne fancy sucky bag machine that had bells whistles and flashing lights. You know if it has all that stuff it has to be better. It lasted about 3 years and quit sealing properly. So I bought this simple sucky bag machine. Not disappointed at all. About half the cost of a fancy one but does the job and fits in a drawer with all the bags and accessories. You won’t be disappointed.

I have a VS1230 model, about a year and a half old. The suction has completely stopped working and when I try to put my warranty claim in after going through their list of trouble shooting methods, they tell me the date code is invalid, even though it is on both the original box and the prong of the outlet plug. Clearly getting themselves out of honoring their warranty! Will not do business with FoodSaver again!

After a few years I have bought three different models and they all last perhaps 1 to 2 years with light use. This company has turned to crap! The first cheap one worked the best and longest.

This was a replacement for the handheld version. It rarely works. I’ve given up trying to get it to work.

Thisis a very inadequate machine. The top does not stay down and sealed. I have to hold it in place securely to use the vacuum. That may be why the vacuum seal does not work very well. I do not recommend this.
