Amabelle absolutely loves her new bike. Automagic is a game changer. Just turned 4 years old and has already done several 10-15 mile rides in her first three weeks with the bike! With the second gear, she is able to better flow with the bike path traffic, which makes the rides much more enjoyable for her and dad. Difference between 7mph and 11-12 mph doesn't sound like a lot but it really does change the whole experience. The only nit, she tends to start and stop peddling a bunch which means, at high speeds, when she first presses down on the pedal it provides very little resistance so her foot can sometimes slips off. Not sure there is a way around that outside of going to traditional gears, but for now, I've just been teaching her to pedal smoothly and consistently, which is best practice anyway. For anyone who thinks they'll be riding more than every once an a while, the lightness of Woom bikes in general mixed with Automagic is non-negotiable. 10+ mile rides, trips to school... we've gone from "let's ride your bike" to "let's bike to down to the wharf for lunch, then over to Georgetown for ice cream, then back home".

Below around 7 mph it stays in low gear, making push-offs and hills easy. Above that it shifts into high gear for faster riding on flat ground. There is no lever, no trigger, no twist. The hub reads speed and switches on its own, keeping kids focused on riding. Everything else carries over from the GO 3: the freewheel drivetrain, 95mm child-specific cranks, two independently operated hand brakes sized for small fingers, steering limiter, quick-release seatpost, and ABC fit guide on both bars and seat. Finally we've got a bike in a color which is compatable with pink woom busket :) The rest is working well, and I would definitely reccommend this bike to those who wants to introduce bike riding to their kids.
My child is enjoying riding this bike, and the automagic gear shifting feature is unique to woom. But compared to our woom 1 & 2 bought several years back, it feels like the quality has gone downhill somewhat. Handlebar grips much less comfortable. Just little pieces here and there it all seems to be corners cut. Can't say much about how the mechanics of the bike will hold up, but time will tell. i'm feeling much less likely to fork over the cost for a woom for the next bike, given that there is a lot of competition in the kid bike space these days and i think we probably find something nicer at the level 4 size for comparable price.
Our grandson has been on a balance bike since about 18 months. He just got a Woom 3 Automagic. First try and hes off and pedaling. He loves it and is quickly learning to use the brakes. No more torn up shoes from dragging his toes.
We live in a hilly neighborhood and this bike allows our small 6-year old to keep up with her friends and get up all the hills. We all love it so much!
