The waffle texture is not very absorbent. You can use the other side which is more absorbent like a regular towel, but it’s not as pretty. It is a generous size hand towel.

I have been slowly replacing older washcloths with Uchinos. I have purchased some waffle twist washcloths (and towels) in other colors. They are soft and absorbent.

I’ve purchased numerous Uchino bath and hand towels as well as washcloths. I find the designs to be contemporary and soothing. The soft, absorbent fabrics are durable and withstand machine washings without problems.
