So disappointing when companies revamp items supposedly to bring improvement... Just like when the bondi 8 disappeared, now the gaviota 5 disappeared and the new models don't compare favorably. None of the new models have a wide toe box. Boohoo for me and all the other people who need a wide toe box I guess?
I really like these shoes but they are only a month and half old and the bottoms have holes in them . I am so sad and disappointed especially for this price my brooks lasted me 6 months.
The design has changed for the worse since the 5s. The shoe overall feels more narrow and shorter, stiffer/firmer with less cushioning, but worse is the upper and tongue- the tongue cuts into the front of my leg. I then tried the shoes on in a store a half-size up and it didn’t fully fix the tongue problem. It’s a shame because I loved the 5s.
These are the best shoes I have worn in the last 10 years. I have worn the Bondi version but they had too much cushioning that I felt my feet were not stable. The Gaviota 6’s are even better than the Gaviota 5’s. I have midfoot arthritis and these are very stable and comfortable to wear. I do add pro-power step insersts and now the Podiatrist had me add fiber carbon steel inserts to prevent extra movement in the joints of my feet. I love these shoes! Just bought my 4th pair, two for outside workouts and two pair for indoors so I can rotate between wearing.
I have very flat feet that over pronate. These were highly recommended for comfort and excellent arch support. I was pretty disappointed. The arch support was not enough, felt hard, and slightly too far back for me. I'm a true 7 in sneakers, and I found these to be slightly too long and too wide, even at the Medium width. The style/coloring was nice- I didn't think that they looked super big or ridiculous, but it was more that the comfort and support was not there.
I ordered two pairs in two different colors and one pair was narrower than the other. One pair pinched my feet as soon as I put it on, the other I was able to put on and wear out for a few hours with no issues.
The foot bed of the sneaker feels real comfortable. However, the sneaker is way to wide. I had gotten the medium width. If you have wide feet these would be great sneakers.
These are dreamy and really put a spring in your step. I'm a true 81/2 and these do run a little long and wide but not so much I want to exchange. I may look at other colors.
The toe box is wide, good for feet that are wide or you wear thick socks, I don't. I love HOKA's but this fit is not for me!
I have had so much trouble finding shoes that fit my feet! Finally! I love these shoes. I have feet issues, including mid-foot arthritis. I generally wear a size 9W, but ordered these in 9 1/2 Wide. My orthopedic insoles fit in this shoe. Another color I wanted to buy is 'out of stock', so I'm hoping they will be in stock soon.
