The looks are nothing to rave about but still good. They are comfortable right out of the box, comfortable walking, but running on asphalt for 10 minutes made my ankles and knees hurt, and that’s not usual. I will say I love the wide toe box and the narrower fit through the rest of the shoe. The fit is perfect, it’s the comfort that could use a bit of improvement.
Based on the new AI suggestion upon selecting my size, I was persuaded to order a half size smaller than my typical running shoe size. Guess what? I should have listened to my intuition because these were a half size too small. Other than the incorrect size, these were comfortable. However, as another person mentioned, I had a lot of heel slippage. I have narrow heels and tie my laces to lock down the heel, but my heel was still slipping just as much using that technique so I'm not sure sizing up will make any difference. This was my first time trying Altras and I'm disappointed because this model is supposed to be ideal for narrow heels and a wide toe box.

I nearly tripped standing up. I felt very off balance, even while trying with my AFO.
I wanted Goretex shoes but these are WAY different than the Wild 3's I'm keeping. Lots of slippage on the heel for me. Such a different fit.
