I need a shoe that runs on the narrow side of medium. Often I get a narrow, if offered, and it is seldom too narrow. These shoes felt narrow in the forefoot, where I think most ppl like a little toe-wiggle room. These likely would have fit ok if the heavy synthetic fabric wasn't so unyielding. A section of fabric mesh on the top might have taken care of this. I have a "bony" foot with no fat, so this shoe doesn't work for me. If you have some fat on your foot, they might work for you. Yes, an orthopedist explained this fat issue to me. :)

The ASICS gel-challenger shoes started out rather stiff for 2-3 days. Then they loosened up & feel great.

I usually buy Asics for trail running and have good luck, so I decided to buy these for specifically for tennis, hoping for support for the quick start/stops and sideways motion of tennis. Unfortunately, these felt narrow in the toe box and offered NO support for tennis to be called tennis shoes. I felt a lot of pain with any lateral motions and also had no arch support.
