Experience Flow 3

I tried 3 Altra options and settled on this one. I really appreciate the wide toe box, shaped like the human foot with extra length at the big toe. It fits like a medium width as it tapers toward the heel. I added a Birkenstock arch support, because I prefer a definite and supported arch, and no brand of athletic shoe provides enough support to satisfy me. I thought the extra height at the heel, where the achilles tendon lives, was a bit too high, but was at least somewhat soft and bendable. My added arch support solved that issue, in any case. I liked the slightly curved, rocking shape to the sole. I am not a runner and plan to wear this walking. I was looking for a light, breathable, summer shoe for warm days. This appears to be the one. The sole also did not squeak against my vinyl floor--another plus. I ordered a half size larger than my usual size for other shoes and would recommend going up a half size for sure.

I love the appearance of these shoes, but something about the construction resulted in no support in the inner part of my foot--I pronated in them and am sorry to have to return them.

Can wear for miles and miles. I love the wide toe box and natural foot shape. Huge Altra fan.

I wear Altras. Great shoes. I wanted an all-white pair. This pair althought typical wide toe shoe this pair looked more like an orthopedic shoe. I dont know if is because they are white. but, is a no for me. other than that great shoe. Just the color.

I have been wearing Altras for a few years. I have bunions and metatarsal pain so I need a wide toe box, low heel drip and plenty of padding. This is one of my Altra favorites.

These shoes felt great right out of the box. Comfortable, supportive, and I love the colors.

It got the highest rating for a women's walking shoe from Outdoor Gear Lab, so I took a chance. It was true that the toe box was wider. I want more cushion under my foot.

I have another Altra shoe and find this very similar and need more support for stability than this one can give.

Has the whole world lost its mind? These shoes are wonderful, I am sure, for everyone who has been brainwashed by the trend in overinflated soles. People: the companies who are selling you these shoes with, essentially, monster truck tires on the bottom are the very same entities who sold you shoes that were "like" running BAREFOOT. Running shoes should not be subject to the same caprice-driven changes as hemlines for skirts. The last time I purchased shoes, I first ordered my usual choice, Brooks Revel, although that shoe had become unrecognizable from what it was when I first came to love it. I opened the box to be shocked by seeing I was expected to run on stilts now. I ended up getting two pair of the Brooks Anthem, not really designed for serious runners, with a higher heel-to-toe drop than I prefer, but at least not part of the monster-truck-tire trend. Looking for something more tailored to those who train to race, I figured I could not go wrong with Altra.... I opened the box and did not even try these on. Even Altra is succumbing to the insanity of stacking shoes miles off the ground. Without even putting the shoe on, I will have to return them. That is why I gave three stars.... They look nice, but I am trying to find something with some cushioning without stacking me up this high. Depressing. I wish even one or two brands would keep a few of their shoes EXACTLY the same so that I don't have to put myself--and Zappos, who are so great about returns and exchanges--through this exhausting shoe search every 6 months.

Amazingly comfortable! Altra is my go to. I love the wide toe box and zero drop. Hiking, walking, running, working out… I have Altra for every need and love them.
