Excellent shoe...comfortable sole, toe area, and a perfect arch. Ordinarily I wear Asics or Brooks or Hoka, but I was looking for a lightweight shoe to wear on trails. The Topo Terraventure was perfect, except the heel collar was too low and my heel didn't stay in the shoe. This is my first experience with Topo, and I will certainly try the Ultrafly or Aura, as they have a higher heel collar.
Finally!! A shoe that knows how important a wide toe box is for comfort and good fit!! I can not overstate how great this shoe is-no break in needed.
I was looking for a light weight shoe for hiking, walking, teaching a 3 hour lecture while recovering from posterior tibial tendonitis. I used to wear zero drop fivefingers shoes, so I really like light weight and low to ground stable feel in my shoes. However, my physical therapist recommended that for the PTT issues I have been having I am going to need something with strong support. These shoes are it. It's not magic, but very close to it. Walking uphill for 10minutes, then downhill for another 10 minutes, with a 3 hour lecture in between did leave my foot and ankle sore, but I wasn't hobbling like I would have in my other shoes. Hopefully this info helps other decide.

I have narrow feet and narrow ankles but need a wider toe box these days. This shoe fits that criteria . Very comfortable and my heel doesn’t slip or rub.
Ordered in both w(first) & up 1/2 size & then m in reg size & then w in reg size to see which fit felt better for my (sigh) burgeoning bunions. This was a lot of walking around the house research, but well worth it! Results for me: The half size up was unnecessary, once I had the correct style. The M width works perfectly except when my feet are getting hotter & hotter, as in these summer temps of late. M width for AMs & cool season, W for summer. I truly wish Topo offered a hiking boot in W width, as that's when my feet are at their hottest.

My Go to shoe for long trail hikes
This is a beautiful sneaker and supportive. It fit on top but the ankle rubbed a bit and husband says that can happen with shoes that are cut out more around the ankle bone which this was. I was going to take a chance but hesitated that some sort of additional padding might do the trick, so alas decided to return. It was a close call.
Great comfortable, light hiking shoes for people whose feet are wide at the toes, but not elsewhere.
