In order to save money I suspect, Blundstone has stopped making these boots with the v-notch sewn into the front of the ankle. Removing a signature feature is rarely a "new feature." The problem for long-time customers is that the notch actually had a function, making it easier to squat in what is, in fact, a work boot. Faddish folks won't care about this, but this is a work boot. Blundstone told me that it was the identical boot as the 172, except no steel toe. It seems to be, but also without the functional v-notch which it used to have until 2019. In fact, after my complaint, they actually changed the pictures on Zappos to accurately reflect what they will ship you when you buy these boots!

Initially tight across the top of the foot; loosens out eventually. Disappointingly, the sole has started to split after only 2 years of occasional street use. Not recommending as a result.

I knew that if I could break these boots in, they'd become my fave work boots of all. It took 2 weeks of daily wear to get the front tongues to stop chafing. Mink oil and a hair dryer on hot helped and now I can happily wear them all day. Comfortable, waterproof, rugged, these are fab!

Quality made shoe. My problem was they never stopped digging into my ankle. I wore them with thick socks for months because I wanted to love them, but they never broke in enough to stop hurting my ankle. Definitely go to there website to learn about Australian sizing before ordering.

These were advertised as safety shoes which is what I needed, but definitely were not. The toe was not reinforced at all. Besides that, they were very big. I wear a women's 10-11 and got these in a 10.5. Wow, very big! I had to return them, sadly.

After only 18 months, the soles under the instep cracked and fell off leaving a foam that gets wet and does not dry. Once the sole fell apart, they were extremely uncomfortable (prior they were great). I wore these every day and so it should not have been a problem of them getting brittle from non-use.

Super disappointed. Boot felt cheap. The toe was so squishy on top- would not protect from much. On top of that the boots arrived in a generic box with no product information. The whole experience felt like I got knock offs or return product.

These boots are my go-to boot for first working, gardening, and then casual wear. They are more utility than cute, but still stylish. My last pair lasted 8 years and could have kept going if my kittens had not attacked the elastic. My last pair also very waterproof, walked for hours in a foot of snow, totally dry. Hope these are just as quality. Love these boots—and I have a narrow heel, wide front foot, medium arch. They are a bit stiff to begin, then fit like a glove.
