I love Mephisto shoes and have had several pair. I bought this pair and they are well crafted, fit perfectly and are very comfortable BUT......they squeak horribly. I thought after I wore them that the squeak would go away but is hasn't. If anything the shoes are louder and noisier than ever and I hate wearing them. I wish I had returned them soon after I had bought them but I thought the noise would go away.

Mephisto are expensive but great shoes. Comfortable, long lasting, and well made. They run a bit wide. I buy them because I need a wide shoe. Mephisto does not offer a wide in this shoe, but if feels wide. Love them.

I was soooo disappointed when I tried on these shoes. The leather is incredibly soft and fine and the soles are perfectly cushy for walking. The mocc toe conforms nicely to the human foot - unlike those foolish pointy shoes. The quality is outstanding. But... they are too wide!! I would consider these to be "wide" not "medium" width. Based on the other shoes that I've been wearing for years and years, I can say that my feet are medium width and these shoes are sloppy on me. I checked various web sites, but it appears that these are available in only one width. To bad. What a shame! Highly recommended if they fit you!

I was searching for a pair of black dress loafers for year round travel. Finding the correct size and fit was a bit of a hunt. While most Mephisto models run large, they differ from one another in how much and also in other aspects of fit. When I tried on the Davys I immediately knew my search was over. For my foot, they are the ultimate in comfort. The soles seem thicker than on the Edlef and Twain models, which makes the Davys feel more substantial. The fact that they are waterproof is just an extra bonus!

The first pair were a little large but all good once I received the 1/2 size smaller. I love Zappo's as it was so easy to return for the right size. These shoes require little break in and are super comfortable. They are not super stylish but they are not built for style but for comfort.

Mephisto makes awesome shoes. I have a few pair of them. Quality is great and they last a long time. I recently purchased the Cirus in 9.5 and the fit is great. I tried the Davy in 9, 9.5, and 10. The size 9 were very tight, too small. The size 9.5 and 10 were very loose fitting. My foot felt like it was swimming around in them. Great looking shoe. I am disappointed they didn't fit. I love Zappos customer service and return policy.

A truly amazingly made shoe. The quality is top notch and they were extremely comfortable the only drawback is the wider width and a seam on the inside bothers me so I had to return. But if you can wear them - they are certainly great quality!

Size 10 too small. Size 10 1/2 too big. Seemed well made but didn’t fit.

My second pair of Mephistos! Perfect fit and the most comfortable shoe EVER. I also like the fact this shoe is waterproof. Yes, they are expensive, but the quality is top notch. These shoes are VERY well made. Plus, they look great. If you’re tired of poor quality and overpriced junk from China and / or flimsy overrated shoes from Italy, then I would definitely give these a very close look. I suspect the DAVY last a very long time, making the price well worth it.

Horrible squeaking until I removed their air inner sole Then love the shoes using my own inner soles. Wish Mephisto offered replacement normal inner soles.
