Goat Classic High (Little Kid/Big Kid)

Eh. They’re fun yet ok. I like the zipper feature but remove that and you’re left with a cute but uncomfortable shoe. Feels like you’re walking on flat pavement with no shoes and suddenly you’ve realized your feet are flat (when they’re not). The arch support is somewhere between moderate and non existent. It does suffice so long as you’re not dependent on it. (Hope that makes sense.) I do like them so I’m keeping ‘em, I’ll just have to purchase some soles for the much needed comfort.

My son wears AFOs which makes him heavy on his feet and heels. We have been using Billy brand shoes for about a year as they are the only ones that seem to fit easily over his AFOs. So far, these seem to be much more sturdy than their regular high tops as those fall apart after only a couple months of wear (this is our 8th pair of Billy's in the last year). For how much this brand costs, the shoes should be much more sturdy and last a good 6 months to a year. We will see how these fare for him over the next few months.

The shoes are wonderful, however, I will be returning them because my son's AFOs were carbon fiber and not so bulky, therefore the shoes ended up being too big. But, for sure, if he had the traditional AFOs they would have been perfect. I did get a different high top and low, both in medium, and they fit his brace and orthotic insert perfectly...so we will be keeping and using those 2 pair (which are very neat and easy and look great). Look for location of zipper. Zipper on outer toe is easier for AFO to get on. Also, the soles are sneaker soles and last longer than the other Billy shoes. So, for AFO's 1. zipper location and if your kid walks a lot, 2. sneaker soles.
