Curl Charisma™ Rice Amino + Quinoa Frizz Control Gel

This gel has given me the best cast and shortest drying time I have ever had with a gel. That being said, it has a very watery consistency and you have to be extremely heavy-handed to achieve this result; I finished the container after only two uses. Would totally make this my go-to if the price-to-product ratio were more economical, but I can’t justify using this as my main styler.

I used this gel for the first time after applying the Curl defining cream. It was easy to apply and has good slip. I have short hair so I used the suggested amount. It started out promising but as it dried, it made my scalp feel really tight and itchy and once my hair was dry, it felt like straw. I tried to scrunch the extreme crunch and even sprayed on some oil mist but nothing helped. I wanted to like this product but it doesn’t work for my hair type, I have several curl patterns from loose curls to coils. This is a disappointment.

I have used this gel for yearsss. It works so well for my fine, soft textured, ringlets. The cast was amazing but I never felt this gel was heavy. It was perfect for me. I just started a new tube of this and it runs out of it like water. It’s not the same consistency. I am not getting the same cast either. Very disappointing. Please, don’t ruin the hair yuzu plum foam too? I love that product.

I’ve been using this product for years with my 2C/3A curls in combination with the curl cream. I diffuse until 100% dry and scrunch out the crunch for soft curls. Opened a new bottle and it was very liquid today - has the formulation recently changed recently changed?

I have 3A/3B curls with medium density, and this gel is truly the best I’ve ever used. I prefer a gel that dries with a crunch, and this one gives the perfect strong cast. Because of that, my curls always come out super defined and shiny. Once I scrunch out the crunch with a little hair oil, my curls look soft, bouncy, and glossy. Day one hair is amazing, but day two is even better — the volume it gives me the next day is perfect. It keeps frizz away without feeling heavy at all, and it pairs well with pretty much every curl cream I’ve tried. Whether I diffuse or plop overnight, the results are consistently great. I’ve tried so many other gels people hype up, but I always end up coming back to this one. For me, it’s the best of the best. Nothing else compares.

Gave it a go, tried different amounts…made my hair gunky and sticky no matter how little I used.

I have super thick hair so it's very hard for me to find a product that works. This one works super well, however it leaves a pretty crunchy cast. Would recommend tho!

Strong hold while keeping curls soft at the same time

Hair looks good but it does leave a lot of white cast all over.

I honestly don't think this Gel is for Natural Type4 Hair. I think a Type3 Head of Hair will love this light-hold Gel. I paired it with the Leave-in Conditioner and it felt like.... nothing. It felt like my Hair/Twists were product free. I'm going to give both products to my Type3 Hair friend.
