C.E.O. Vitamin C Brightening Rich Hydration Moisturizer

I had been using this cream for about 20 days and had already used nearly half of the product without any issues. However, last Wednesday, I started noticing a patch on my forehead after applying the cream. My skin felt thick, itchy, and irritated. Over the next few days, I began developing hives and redness on my face. The reaction became concerning enough that I decided not to go out this weekend. I stopped using all skincare products and only washed my face with cold water. Today, I decided to do a small patch test on my neck because the reaction had only appeared on my face. About 15 minutes after applying a small amount of the cream, I developed a rash directly below the area where I had applied it. I immediately washed the area to remove the product. Based on my experience, it appears that this cream may have caused a delayed skin reaction. Everyone’s skin is different, but I wanted to share my experience so others can be aware of the possibility of irritation or an allergic reaction, even after using the product for several weeks without any problems.

I've never had any problems with my skin ever, but after using this once, my skin broke out in itchy red bumps. Luckily, it went away after a week once I stopped using this product. I've never had a product cause me to break out before.

This was my beloved product that I have purchased multiple times through the years. Nothing compares. This time however was a different story. On day three I started to delelope an itchy, bumpy rash everywhere the product touched my skin. I am now left with very uncomfotable dry skin that I'm attempting to sooth with other products. I do not have sensitive skin so this is a very strange occurance. I have now read multiple reviews of customers with the same result. I can't see the formulation being changed to the degree it's landing customers in the dermatologist's office. It makes zero sense. Did someone tamper with a batch? Makes you wonder. I will retry purchasing again when enough time has passed, as this product is usually 5 stars & that's coming from someone who's tried every product out there! I did return the product & Sephora staff was great, even offered me a sample of a soothing cream when they saw the rash. Heartbreaking return.

I bought this cream months ago and it caused a terrible rash on my skin. It's been at least 4 months now since I used it for about a week, and now I have very irritated skin around the forehead, cheeks and chin area. I visited two different dermatologists and they both claimed I have contact dermatitis, which only came about after I implemented this to my skin care routine. One of the dermatologists said that my skin may have reacted to one of the citrus ingredients. If you have never tried a concentrated vitamin C product, please do a patch test on your forearm first before applying to your face! I wish I had read more reviews before ever buying this product. I hope it works for others, but sadly for me it caused more damage than good.

I’m beyond disappointed with this product. After using this Vitamin C cream, I experienced severe irritation and dryness, especially around my eyes and I don't have particularly sensitive skin. After a few uses, the skin under my eyes became puffy, red, and inflamed. It honestly looked like Freddy Krueger skin. The swelling was so bad that my under-eye area started drooping. My eyes were literally SCREAMING: constantly watering, red, and painful to the touch. It’s been well over a month, and I’m still dealing with the effects. No amount of makeup could cover it up. everything just made it worse. I’ve never had such a horrible reaction to a skincare product in my life. What’s even more frustrating is that this was RECOMMENDED to me by a Sephora employee and at no point was I warned about potential side effects or how strong this formulation might be. For a product marketed as beneficial and brightening, it did the complete opposite: it damaged my skin and made me feel self-conscious.

After a bit of a deep dive into testing and finding a new moisturizer, I landed on this one and really love it. As I'm getting older (just started my 7th decade – what?!), my skin needs more moisture... plus I live in a very dry climate, so it's easy to start feeling like a raisin. I love the creaminess and texture of it; it might be a bit heavy for younger girls with perfect skin, but for me, it's lovely. I like my skin to feel velvety and soft, and this does it. I have no illusions about skincare products 'erasing' wrinkles or reversing the aging process, but being properly moisturized is a must. Oh, and I like the very faint scent of this cream. I can't stand any whiff of chemicals or heavy herbal ingredients (even if natural). Maybe just me, but some of my other moisturizers (including a higher-end brand) starting giving off this playdoh scent that I couldn't stand. Happy I found this. Oh, and it comes in a mini that I love for travel: I clean the little container and refill.

I’ve been using this cream regularly for at least a year now. It works just as well as the serum but adds a little moisture to my routine, which my aging skin appreciates. However, I recommend using it in addition to another moisturizer as it doesn’t hydrate well enough to use alone.
