Curl Shaping Mousse for Curls & Coils

Made hair sticky and then feel super dry. It smells nice though

[I received this product in exchange for my honest review] I have tried multiple different brands of mousse and I would say that I’m not a fan of the way to leaves my hair feeling a bit dehydrated, but using their Cleansing Creme helps provide the hydration. It has a decent hold on its own.

[I received this product in exchange for my honest review] This mousse was okay overall, and it seemed to help give my curls a bit more shape and definition without making my hair feel overly crunchy. I like that a little goes a long way, and it added some hold while still letting my curls keep movement. The scent is also really nice and light. It also gives an "elevated salon product" feel that Oribe is known for. It worked best for me when paired with another moisturizing product underneath. The reason I’m giving it 3.5 rounded to 4 stars is because it didn’t completely wow me for the price point. While it performs decently well, I found that my hair could start feeling a little dry if I used too much, and I was hoping for a bit more frizz control, stronger definition, and longer lasting softness. It’s a solid styling mousse that gives a reasonablly nice definition and hold but may not be for everyone.

[I received this product in exchange for my honest review] To get a true feel for how this product performs, I used it just on its own. I would usually layer it with a curl cream/gel. But on its own, it was just ok. My hair is in the process of becoming more curly, so in some areas I have much tighter curls and others are more wavy. On my wavy parts, the mousse alone did not do much to form or hold my curls. My hair also tends to get very frizzy, and I think the mousse helped a little with that. I had to use a lot more product than I normally would with a mousse, which is concerning since I know Oribe products can be expensive. I am excited to use it more and experiment with pairing it with other products.

[I received this product in exchange for my honest review] Oh I was so excited to receive this product and let me tell you, I was not disappointed! Smells great, has good hold and easy to use! I hate when the spout or mousse containers are difficult to use and this is SO easy, even when you’re hands have product leftover on them (which is how you do curly hair!). It’s on the medium side of the spectrum so if you need a lightweight product then this isn’t for you. But for my 2b-3c it works great.

I think for someone with thicker/Dryer hair this would work well, but if you have fine hair be prepared for it to leave you with a sticky/ corse sensation to your hair. I’ve used it about 7 times now and only one of those times I liked the red. However it does help keep the curls from being frizzy for a day or two.

This mousse gives my curls nice definition and helps control frizz without making my hair feel stiff or crunchy. It adds volume and keeps curls looking fresh throughout the day. The texture is lightweight and easy to distribute evenly. However, the hold is a bit softer than I expected, and in humid weather some frizz still appears. Overall, it’s a good styling product that enhances natural curls while keeping them touchable and soft.

[I received this product in exchange for my honest review] I love this mousse! I’ve been looking for a mousse that helps with definition but doesn’t make my fine waves crunchy, and this is it! I first used it on wet hair out of the shower and along with a little gel, i already had great looking waves. I plopped my hair for an hour or so and then let my hair air dry. I woke up with voluminous curls and waves- they were soft and bouncy and it looked like I had diffused my hair! I also used it on dry hair to refresh the next day & it works well for that too. So glad I was able to try this out and find a great mousse!

[I received this product in exchange for my honest review] It’s nice. Container dispenses well an don’t need a whole lot to cover your hair. While it does help a little it doesn’t do a ton to define my curls. The smell is okay. Not bad but not a refreshing smell where I keep wanting to smell my hair later. I don’t reach for it often after the first few uses so I can’t see myself repurchasing or telling anyone else to.
