Original Styler - 1" Flat Iron

Crapped out after 3 years or so, like the other reviews, red button suddenly appeared and makes a an alarming beeping noise. I’ve had $200 straighteners last 10 years so won’t buy this again.

I have had this flat iron since 2010, and today it finally broke on me. It truly was the best flat iron ever! I had dropped the plug several times over the years, so the only reason it broke was because when I pulled the plug out of the socket, it came apart and some of the pieces inside shifted around. After 16 years, I’d say it served me incredibly well. I will definitely be repurchasing it.

I bought this straightener in March 2025 and it gave up on me today, May 2026. I’ve had cheaper straighteners last me 4+ years, I’ve barely had this one a year and it just beeps loudly, flashes red, and won’t heat up.

When I first got this straightener it was AMAZING now it just beeps really loud and doesn’t work 🙄😡

This is the second one I’ve had due (fuse problem) within the last 2 years. Don’t purchase this - it is way too expensive for the very poor quality. So disappointed.

If i could give 0 stars i would. Their old straightners were amazing - this one has a wire issue it seems and broke within a couple months and shuts on and off repeatedly when i use it. I didn’t wrap the wire around the straightener when i put it away, and I’m careful to avoid the wire issue I’ve heard about but it still happened. On top of that, they have no customer service for Canadians, so i have no way of getting help, and Sephora told me they couldn’t help me and i had to go through GHD as well so im at a dead end. DO NOT BUY. Save your money. so many people i know experienced the same faulty wire issue. These cost way too much to break this fast.

I have purchased a ghd flat iron on two occasions. Both times they have stopped working after about two years. This is an expensive flat iron and is supposed to be high quality and it’s a shame it quits working without warning leaving you in a hair conundrum in the morning. I purchased a l’ange and am happy with it.

The amount of damage this product caused my hair is insane.. my hair is so thick but it burns and smells burnt every time I use this product.. don’t buy

I just got the GHD after my straightener broke. I'm so happy I switched over! My hair is thick and coarse and I've noticed the GHD makes it smooth.

i loved this straightener… when it worked. i bought it less than 2 years ago and it recently stopped working. only one of the plates heats up and after a couple of mins, the button turns red and starts beeping. it should last more than 2 years for the price tag.
