I bought this because I’ve been a loyal studio fix fan since high school, I would buy multiple at a time because I always ran out right before I needed it most. I thought I had finally worked through my stash of discontinued ones so I went with the recommended shade match for my old color. I ended up finding one more of my discontinued ones before I recieved the new formula so I decided to compare. Based on color alone they were very different and not a comparable match. The new formula also not picking up as well as the old and when I placed them next to each other on my hand the new formula would wipe away with one touch whereas the old formula I would have to wipe it multiple times for it to wipe away. Overall bad shade match and did not last with the wipe test. I unfortunately missed my return window so that’s 40$ down the drain and I will have to find a new powder foundation.

I was so excited about the new packaging being refillable. Total fail. I just purchased this and hardly used it when it came out of the refillable package and spilled all over my work floor. Money not well spent.
I don’t know why Matt cosmetics couldn’t make this into a new product instead of giving it the same name as a different foundation powder that they used to sell. This is not even comparable to that one so it should’ve been a new product with a new name the shades also are not even close to being
I have extremely oily skin so I thought this would be great especially given the reputation of MAC however, this is terrible. I never reach for this and it makes your pores look so noticeable and huge. Considering the fact that this is for oil control and most people targeted for this have oilier skin therefore bigger pores, this should have had some pore minimizing formulation involved but no. Not to mention it makes you look so cakey, I thought to purchase this for a no makeup look, yeah no......
I recently got the opportunity to try out this powder plus foundation and I thought it was pretty good. I typically have combo skin and go for liquid foundations but I wanted to try something different. My skin has been on the drier side lately so I will say it’s very important that you moisturize and prep your skin correctly beforehand if you want a really nice application. The shade I recieved was a little off because I picked it online so I will say it’s probably better to go in person to see which shade would match best. I will say that it lasted very well.. that suprised me because by the end of the day it was still on my skin without fading. And it rained that day too and it did not disappear, so it really is waterproof and fade resistant. I recommend this product. I received this product for free from MAC Cosmetics for testing and review purposes.
I bought this product myself , I was looking for something new , I use foundation everyday and was looking for something to cut my make up steps down and this overall did the job , it’s great coverage and not cakey .
It makes my makeup look very cakey and doesn’t feel lightweight at all. I wouldn’t recommend it.
This powder has never quit on me. It's great for a mid day touch up or using to set makeup for a bit more coverage. Can get cakey, so be deliberate about your application.
I have been a loyal fan of this powder for many years. However, the formula change has been a dealbreaker. First, it was wasteful that I had to return an online order of the new compact to Sephora then inconvenient to go to MAC store to find my new color. However, I am fortunate that I was able to color match (from NW18 to NC10). My biggest issue is that this is no longer full coverage nor lasting. I have to use a lot more product and it wears off faster through the day, requiring more reapplication than before. To add insult to injury, the previous formula was 15g of product and the new formula is 12g of product for the same price!
Been using this for 10+ years, it’s my absolute favorite and applies sheer and buildable and doesn’t look dry
