Most nutritional yeast products are 'fortified' with questionable synthetic and unneccesary 'nutrients' that you don't need. Foods Alive nutritional yeast is one of the very few that doesn't use additives.
Foods Alive Nutritional Yeast is one of the best—if not the best—on the market. The quality is outstanding, and what makes it even better is that it’s non-fortified. Fortified yeasts just don’t have the same nutrient absorption rate as non-fortified versions. This one is amazing in both taste and nutrition. The only downside is that, as a heavy yeast user, the 2 lbs bag runs out so quickly. It would be fantastic if they offered a 5 lbs (or larger) package option.

I like the taste a lot and use it to get natural B vitamins from food. It is an excellent source of complete protein, dietary fiber, antioxidants (like glutathione and selenomethionine), and several natural B vitamins (such as B1, B3, B5, and B6) that the yeast cells produce as they grow.

Tastes Great! Non-Fortified Nutritional yeast is a fantastic source of B vitamins,particularly vitamin B1 (thiamine). It does not have synthetic Vitamins added to it!
