I was advised to take this to block DHT which causes hair loss especially in people with PCOS who tend to have higher testosterone levels. I did see improvement and less hair loss, however had to stop taking it due to pregnancy.
As far as I can tell, this product seems to be from a newer company and I found it unusual that the label stating that it had both the plant powder & extract that it was in a standard capsule rather than the usual softgel that all Saw Palmetto extracts I've seen have been, so that makes me feel a bit doubtful about the product's labeling.... but I'm not a supplement developer so there may be things that I don't know that would allow an extract to be included in a powder in such a way. Although that then leads me to wonder why the other brands offering saw palmetto extract go to the expense of using a softgel if it's not necessary... That being said I don't take saw palmetto for any acute issues, but rather as a preventative so I can't really attest to its effectiveness. Although I believe I will continue to use this product as the label does state it contains both the whole plant & the extract which I completely believe in such a combination for any such product. I'm going to try to obtain the certificate of authenticity for this product.
