## **Diesel New Zealand Whey Protein Review** I recently picked up a deal on **Diesel New Zealand Whey Isolation**, grabbing two 5lb tubs on a **buy one, get one for $120**. At roughly $60 per tub, the price point was hard to beat for a "premium" grass-fed whey. However, after using it for a while, the experience is a bit of a mixed bag. ### **The Nutritionals (The "Too Good to Be True" Factor?)** The macros on this are objectively impressive: **27g of protein for only 110 calories**. On paper, that is incredible density. However, it does raise some questions. * **Texture:** When mixed with water, the consistency is much thinner and "lighter" than big-name brands like **Optimum Nutrition (ON)** or **Nutricost**. Those brands usually have a bit more body and thickness to them. * **Amino Spiking:** Given the unusually high protein-to-calorie ratio, I’ve found myself wondering if there’s any amino spiking involved. It’s hard to confirm without third-party lab tests, but 27g of protein in a 110-calorie scoop is definitely at the extreme high end of what’s physically possible for whey. ### **Flavor Profile & Sweeteners** If you are switching from ON or Nutricost, be prepared for a bit of a shock. The flavors here are **not as bold or flavorful** as the major name brands. They feel a bit muted and underwhelming. The biggest differentiator is the sweetener: * **Stevia-Forward:** You can definitely taste the **Stevia** over the traditional artificial sweeteners (like Sucralose) used in most brands. * **Personal Preference:** While some people prefer Stevia for being "natural," I personally find the aftertaste a bit distracting. I actually prefer the flavor profile of the traditional artificial sweeteners found in the bigger brands; they tend to mask the "whey" taste better than Stevia does. ### **Final Verdict** **Pros:** * Incredible macros (27g protein / 110 calories). * Great value if you can find the BOGO deal ($120 for 10lbs). * High-quality New Zealand whey source. **Cons:** * Muted flavor compared to industry leaders. * Very thin, watery consistency. * Strong Stevia aftertaste. **Bottom Line:** If you are on a strict "cut" and every single calorie counts, the 27g of protein is a massive win. But if you actually want to enjoy your protein shake as a treat, you might find yourself missing the thickness and flavor of brands like ON.

High-quality milk source, clean ingredients, great solubility, light and non-greasy taste. Safe for lactose-intolerant users. The Cookies & Cream flavor has a natural aroma, sweet but not cloying, with no artificial aftertaste.
this brand of protein powder always has the BEST taste. they’re always spot on and never taste gross like all of the other brands of protein powder. any flavour with this brand is good.

Awful taste. I really hope my wife likes it so I can buy another one. Or else I have to endure the taste.... My favorite taste from this company is Salted Caramel.

Diesel’s Cookies & Cream protein is smooth, delicious, and mixes easily without clumps. The flavor is rich but not overly sweet, making it perfect for both shakes and recipes. A great choice for anyone looking for a high-quality protein with excellent taste.
