The serving size of 4 capsules provides 200 mcg of selenium. This is a very high dose, representing half of the established Tolerable Upper Intake Level (UL) for adults. Since we also get selenium from our diet, it's very easy to exceed safe levels with long term use, which can lead to toxicity. Because of this, I've decided to only take 1-2 capsules daily instead of the recommended 4. This seems like a safer approach for maintenance, but I'm unsure if it will provide the full intended benefits.

I've been using this brand for years vs a well known brand that's advertised on TV. But this for my dad. He swears by it. It’s easy to swallow and a bottle lasts around a month. Really good for prostate health. Will continue buy, really good quality and so easy to swallow. The ingredients are really good.

This formula seems to work well because I did notice some improvement in urinary flow and less discomfort, and you do notice the skin and hair becomes slightly less oily (apparently a sign of supression of DHT activity). However, other formulas I have tried do seem more potent. You also can't really underdose on this one because the effects become negligible. It is not overly expensive, so it may be reasonable for some people. The dosage of the Saw Palmetto and sterols is fairly high for a formula of this type. Taste is negligible because it is capsules. Doctors Best is known to be a high quality brand.
