I chose this supplement as part of a strategy to maintain bone mineral density in people aged 50+ with a focus not only on bones but also on cardiovascular safety. In experimental and clinical studies, magnesium has been shown to have the potential to inhibit vascular calcification and is associated with lower cardiovascular risk. As a result, I use this supplement as part of a broader regimen: moderate calcium (½ dose), full dose of magnesium, adequate vitamin D and protein, plus regular weight-bearing physical activity. Subjectively, the supplement is well tolerated; in my case, magnesium citrate does not cause digestive problems.

The size of the pill is quite big, but I don’t have problem in swallowing. No smell. Slow release is super convenient for me coz i would definitely forget the second dose if i need to take it more than once a day.
