Probiotics are a dried powder in a capsule. The advantage for me is that I can keep them for a long time at room temperature. I take one capsule in the morning on an empty stomach because I have issues with frequent diarrhea, and I thought it might help regulate my digestion. I still have problems with diarrhea — it won’t work miracles — but I do feel a pleasant sensation in my stomach when I take the probiotic, similar to eating some fermented vegetables or consuming fermented yogurt. It won’t perform miracles, but it’s a beneficial addition to the rest of my daily diet.
