I have purchased these from iherb a few times now and very happy. I am a builder and get seriouly bad arthritis in my joints from too much hard work.I could hardly move some days. I have tried everything from fish oil to greenlip muscle, to shark cartilage, but not steroids and cortizone as I hate drug side effects. Astaxanthin is the only thing that had made a difference and the side effects are better health. Truly amazing results with other huge health benefits, everyone should be taking it. Very good on the Labradors arthritis too. Quite possibly one of the most important suppliments ever found. The worlds salmon live on it, they can't all be wrong. Just my opinion.
Healthy Origins 12mg Astaxanthin is A #1 in my books. I have noticed three definite advantages since I began taking this powerful antioxidant almost 2 years now. I take 1 every day and so does my husband. I have never had strong nails before, and my nails would always split and have ridges. I do not have that problem anymore. I have long, strong nails. This is a GREAT product. I will continue to use it. I have not had a doctors visit this year and I attribute most of not all to taking this product without fail. I am in good health and do not take any prescription drugs, even though I am 46 years old. I have been taking hyaluronic acid for five years and that fixed most my problems. Early in 2014, I had constant eyestrain and sore ankles that would not go away. After taking this product, the problems had disappeared over night. I notice jogging became easier and I do not sunburn as easily. Be careful about the natural sunscreen claims. I still get sunburned but I can stay out in the sun twice longer and the sunburn does not hurt so badly. The first two weeks, I did feel dizzy and a rush of euphoria after taking this product but that has disappeared.
I use this all the time for my Sjogren's. Use as needed. I get the triple strength because I'm not so little and I need the extra anyway. The astanxanthin always keeps my eyes moist and no more dry eye syndrome! It's also a great antioxidant. My body always tells me when it's time to add more or get more.
It seems that Astaxanthin does help with the pain in my knees from arthritis. I ran out but thought that the other holistic supplements I was taking was sufficient. Within a week, my knees started hurting again. As I was trying to figure out why, I decided to add that back to my diet. Within a few days I my knees were better! So obviously this works for my body.
I take this for eye health, it also has other health benefits. In addition to this, for eye health, I take Blue Bonnet Beta Carotene, C, E, Plus Selenium(has high amount of beta carotene for vitamin A-do not take more than 50,000IU), Solgar Ester-C Plus 1,000mg Vitamin C(for extra vitamin C divided doses), Solaray Lutein Advanced(high amount of Lutein, also Zeazanthin, bilberry, spinach), Solgar Sublingual Methylcobalamin 5,000 mcg(considered the forgotten vitamin), Healthy Origins E-1000 natural vitamin E, Now Ginkgo Biloba Double Strength-these are very good for eye health. Then, if need more nutrition for the eyes: Now Choline & Inositol(for healthy nerves, including optic nerve), Life Extension Eye Pressure Support with Mirtogenol(has bilberry), Nature's Way Eyebright, Solaray Zinc Copper(needs to be a certain amount of zinc to copper), Nature's Way Fennel seed. I have only been taking these tablets for about three weeks now. I think I have been a little sharper mentally since I've been taking them so the signs are promising. The capsule itself is black and quite slippery so easy to take. I take an awful lot of supplements so having something that is easier to take is a blessing. I do wonder where the black colouring comes from though. I like the Healthy Origins brand as I take the pycnogenol from this supplier and it is very good - I think they are a quality brand.
