I purchased the NOW Foods, Sambucus Zinc-C as I am trying different elderberry and zinc quality formulas to find the best fit for my young daughter. While the combination of Sambucus (Elderberry), Zinc, and Vitamin C is excellent for immune support, the flavor of these lozenges was unfortunately not accepted by my daughter. Finding the right supplement form can be difficult, and this one was not a success for her preference. Parents should be aware that the taste might not appeal to all children.

I love this product because the zinc amount is low enough that you can suck on these a few a day so you keep the zinc, vitamin c and elderberry ingredients in your mouth/throat tissue where you would also be inhaling colds etc. This is not a sugar candy. It has a decent amount of elderberry extract in to be worth it. It tastes good. Now Brand is good quality and no unnecessary extras. It is a brand I trust for value and quality. I suck these at first sign of a scratchy throat or tickle or cough and it helps me stay well through the winter season. I also like to have these in my pocket on public transport especially flights where breathing air from other people - I would not be without these! Unlike sticky elderberry syrups in glass bottles these are dry and easy to travel with and won't stain your pocket/handbag. I honestly would not be without them.
