I found Cle de Peau a couple years ago and always make sure to have it with me. It has made getting ready a luxury. The foundation is easy to apply and breathable, does not feel thick and heavy or cakey at all.

goes on smoothly and evens my blotchy skin

A tiny bit goes a long way. Covers with a solid medium coverage. The light to medium neutral is a bit lighter than I would have expected. I have never worn a medium skin tone which would have been the next level up. I make it work, but the shade is a tiny bit light. I got the matte version because I wanted something that would last through hot humid summer days. I do find myself wishing I had tried the glow version instead. It can look a little makeup'y at first, but settles in to look natural. I do think I will repurchase, but I would like to try it on in store next time. I may switch to the glow version, or a different shade. I have tried a lot of foundations. I have mature, healthy, 59 year old well taken care of skin.

This matte might be great if you have really oily skin, but on my normal skin it just looked like one of those flat mattes, felt like an outdated formula to me - kind of emphasized my lines which does not happen with other matte foundations. If you don’t have oily skin, try this one as a sample first and wear it all day before purchase to see what I mean
