Delsey Shadow 5.0 Expandable 27" Check-in Spinner Luggage, Created for Macy's

This coming Fall 2026, my family and I are heading overseas for a six-month trip! I spent some time comparing Delsey and American Tourister luggage for the journey. Ultimately, Delsey won out due to its superior features—especially the SECURITECH® zipper, which prevents airport pen-theft, and the highly durable 100% polycarbonate hardshell construction. Since Macy's was running a generous discount, I went ahead and bought four sets for our trip. I highly recommend checking them out, and I hope you find the perfect luggage for your own travels!

I bought the first one 3 years ago. I bought the second one because of its durability and maneuverability. The wheels are smooth and are less noisy.

Looks great, sturdy and a lot of nice features. One thing that isn't entirely related to this specific model but to keep in mind is that you will very likely go above 50lbs/23kg, if you fill it normally which is a bit disappointing and defeats a bit the purpose of having a large suitcase.

I haven't had a checked suitcase in almost 20 years, but I have owned Delsey's in the past. This is super lightweight, and the zipper is incredibly sturdy.

Love my Delsey

I am a senior citizen and mt travels using this larger piece of luggage I can count on one hand and still have fingers left unused. It is a beautiful set however it’s been less than a year and I have lost two of the wheels on the larger piece - I have been unable to get assistance for repairs in my area..

Nice suitcase, light and soavious

This is my second Delsey suitcase. I adore the first I purchased. It has a red interior and each side of the suitcase secured with its own divider that zips that compartment completely closed and has a locked on each divider. I purchased the second Delsey to replace an old Sampsonite that was falling apart after decades of use. I am disappointed that this Macys version of the Delsey has no interior pockets and only one side has the divider. The other side has the usual straps that buckle together. Haven’t traveled with it yet but it is larger than the one I’m replacing so that’s a bonus. I suppose it’s good value for the clearance price I purchased it at.

I am so disappointed by the quality of the inside lining of Delsey Shadow 5.0 Expandable 27” I got the bag 1 year back and in just 2 trips the lining has torn at the seams. The Net too has its holes expanded and I have a feeling by the trip I might have to throw the bag. I have figure the warranty of the bag and if Delsey will take it back! Not Happy … should have stuck with Samsonite.

The luggage did not break after I used it twice recently on a 5 hour round trip flight and a 15 hour roundtrip flight. However, the sides of the mesh zip cover on the inside is already ripping because the material sewn onto the mesh is very thin. It is similar to the lining of a suit jacket. On my 20 year old Samsonite, they used a very thick canvas-like material for the interior and zip cover that is still holding up. Any stretch to that material, it will rip instantly. Besides that it is okay for now.
