Large and Heavy Iron
I just bought this iron to replace one that stopped working. I was surprised at the size of this iron. It is a lot larger and heavier than my previous iron. However, after using it, I find that the weight and size of the iron actually does a more efficient job in getting the wrinkles out of my clothes. The retractable cord feature is nice, but nothing that I find necessary. I find the auto shutoff feature to be more valuable. I am very pleased with this iron.

Returning.. several reasons
For the cost of this iron, it doesn’t get hot or stay hot and the cord doesn’t retract. I will be returning and going with what I know… a Black n Decker!

CURRENT NOT WORTH IT...
Thinking about return.. Doesn't really get hot or remain hot, seems like you have to continue shaking it so it will not auto shut-off; And the cord doesn't retract all the way back into the iron...

Light weight
This Proctor Silex Steam Iron with Retractable Cord -replaces a Rowenta iron that started to leak. So glad I bought this one, light weight with the retractable cord, looks heavy but it's not. Easy to use, glides over garment, good steam.

Great iron
I had a very expensive iron that lasted just under 5 years. I did not want to buy another one so a search brought me to this one. It had nearly all of the features I was looking for and was a very good price as well.

Lasted less than a month
I purchased this iron to replace another made-in-China product that does not provide steam. I used it five times, and today, it stopped working. The return window closed two weeks ago, so I am left with a substandard product that I can't use and can't return. If you are looking for an iron that will last, this one is not it.
