Cuisinart 5-Quart Salad Spinner with Brake

I love the salad spinner but unfortunately the outer bowl has cracked after only having it for two months.

We bought this spinner cover why does it warble can you advise

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I’ve had this spinner for over a year now and can attest that it works well for washing and drying mushrooms, spinach and other greens. While it’s large, it’s best not to overload the bowl to get the best drying results. My one critique would be cleaning. To get it clean the lid has a hand turned nut and several small plastic gears and clips which all come apart maybe a little too easily and without warning. So, if you’re only washing and drying a very small amount of vegetables then it may not be worth it. But, when the job is larger, I’ve found that even with less than ideal disassembly and reassembly using the spinner is still more effective and faster than doing the same task by hand.

This salad spinner was a Christmas gift and I was so excited to receive it, however, the clear base bowl has developed a vertical crack (about 1 inch long) from the top down the side. This salad spinner has never been put in the dishwasher and is always hand washed after each use.

Although it appears sturdy and practical at first glance, daily operation has revealed a significant design flaw. The issue affects usability enough that it overshadows the spinner’s intended convenience. Here are the details from my experience today below. I have been using this salad spinner for several months, and unfortunately, the lid mechanism has been frustrating to use. The spinner relies on small plastic teeth or grips inside the lid that are supposed to engage with the bowl to allow it to spin. However, it is very difficult to get these teeth to properly catch and grip. Many times I have to reposition the lid several times before it engages correctly. If the teeth do not line up perfectly, the bowl will not spin, making the drying process inconvenient and time-consuming. While the spinner works when everything lines up correctly, the design makes it difficult to use consistently. I would not recommend it if you are looking for a salad spinner that operates smoothly and easily.

I like the functionality of this salad spinner and its large capacity. It worked well until... After about 2 months of owning it, I was pouring water out of the large plastic bowl and I heard a crunch sound - it cracked! The clear plastic bowl is far too brittle. It did not hold up to normal usage. All I did was pour water out of it and the weight of the water broke it. Now, if I fill the bowl to rinse vegetables, it leaks out of the crack. So I have to use it in my sink only. It still spins, but eventually the crack will get worse and it will become unusable.

My wife received this as a gift for Christmas and we only used it a few times. Now it is no longer working. After cleaning it, it either will not spin at all, or it makes a very loud grating sound and is very difficult to spin.

This little salad spinner worked really well until it broke three months after I purchased it. I was washing it and it just snapped right in half which seems like a defect to me.

We really like our Cuisinart Salad Spinner; it is first-rate, super easy to use, and clean. Highly recommend!

I bought this online a few weeks ago and have used it only a few time, took the lid apart to clean it, put it back together but now it doesn’t spin. Very disappointed after several products from this brand I will probably not buy again.
