I haven't had any malfunctions yet. The surface wioes clean with just a glass cleaner and lint-free cloth. I like that it doesn't show a million little fingerprints. The only negative is that I've had trouble finding the 20 gallon size trash bags. I didn't anticipate that. I was able to find them online and now have an auto-shipment.

The size of it is perfect for an apartment dweller like me. It's lightweight and holds up to a 20 gallon bag. It has a nice sleek look in your kitchen. The handle on it is great because you can flip it open and there's a little storage area where you can put extra garbage bags so it makes putting a new garbage bag in much easier. It has odor control in it which is amazing when you have an apartment. It really does help control the odors of everyday garbage. The step mechanism is smooth and I like the lid doesn't slam shut.
