Got these for my teen--he needed snow boots for walking to/from school. My own Bogs have lasted 8+ years and still keep my feet warm and dry, so Bogs were my first choice for him even though they can be a bit heavy. They held up through a day of sledding with friends as well--totally waterproof and warm because there are no seams. Note that there is no handle as there is on other Bog styles, but this does make them shorter and therefore a little lighter. There's a little ridge at the heel that helps with pulling them on on/off.

These boots are way too heavy! Tromping through snow is hard enough without heavy boots.

These boots are great, but I had to send them back because they were too big. They didn't have the size I needed so I went with another option in Bogs. I really liked them but didn't need two pair. Very good traction, but I just tested around the house. Definitely worth a try. YMMV, but I'd order a size down, or order two and send the larger one back courtesy of Zappo's awesome return policy.

Great: These boots are fantastic for snow, mud, and rain. They last for years. This is our second pair in 16 years.
